The Reverend Jae Hong Han

 

The Rev. Jae Hong Han is pastor of the Shin Kwang Church of New York, Bayside, a church he has served faithfully for the past quarter century, building it to a congregation of several hundred members.

Pastor Han was born in Bosung, Korea. He completed his education in the United States, earning his BA from Trinity Theological Seminary in 1969 and his MDiv from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1978. He also studied at Princeton Theological Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary.

He served as pastor of the San Francisco Reformed Church from 1979 before becoming pastor of the Shin Kwang Church of New York in 1985.

He is a member of the Reformed Church in America in which he has served as president of the Classis of Queens, president of the Association of Korean Churches in RCA. He is a Trustee of the New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He is currently chair and a member of the Board of Trustees of Korean Christian Broadcasting Network, NY. He has also served terms as president of both the Association of Greater New York Korean Churches (1996-1997) and the Clergy Association of New York (1999-2000).

Pastor Han married Young Sook Min Han in Chicago in 1972. They have two sons, James and Myung, and one daughter, Jihae.
