TRIMM is meeting the new reality in the world of electronic media by adapting its programs and services to function as a creative media agency for and with the churches to develop, place or market programming which addresses the needs of the Christian community and which contributes to the public good. TRIMM Programs & Projects Client Services TRIMM assists congregations and church leaders in planning, producing and marketing mass media programs or campaigns as producer or agent. TRIMM is recognized in the communications industries as an agent. Payments to media outlets for time or space are commisionable to TRIMM and do not increase costs to the client or advertiser. TRIMM serves as special guest placement coordinator to place religious spokespersons on programs and newscasts. Any church or related agency interested in exploring possibilities for a mass media ministry or an advertising campaign is invited to request a preliminary consultation, which is available, or course, free of charge. When advisable, TRIMM will conduct a project feasibility study at or below cost. All client services are provided at cost. Resources TRIMM provides churches and media with instructive literature and tools to facilitate their communications efforts. Highly acclaimed is TRIMM's 16-page Guide to the New York Market Area Media, a comprehensive directory published in cooperation with the New York Chapter of the Religious Public Relations Council. It is an invaluable reference covering all aspect of media outlets in the market. It is available from TRIMM at a cost of $5 plus postage ($1.25). Communication Education TRIMM's Seminars/Workshops are open to a wide range of church and media leaders and are often scheduled as part of the annual meeting of TRIMM each November. The goal is to inform and report on communications trends and media-related matters that can affect the social order and impact the work of the Church and churches in the New York market area. TRIMM's programs and projects will provide a valuable internship opportunity and work experience to students from the area's many seminaries and schools of communications.
The Interfaith Connection, a radio program produced by TRIMM on WKTU (103.5 FM), airs each Sunday morning. TRIMM offers stations and media producers guidance on religious subjects. TRIMM is available to serve national denominational and conciliar religious broadcasters in placement of their productions in the market area. Other Media Ventures To build a spirit of community and to foster unity in the market area, TRIMM is envisioning imaginative projects using print, non-broadcast electronic, and interactive media.
TRIMM is an ecumenical association of religious communions at work since 1974 for Christian interest in the 31 counties of the New York metro market. Christian councils, judicatories and agencies throughout the metro market area are invited to join TRIMM. Governance TRIMM functions with a cohesive, media-savvy Board of Directors that meets five times a year. The Council of Advisors includes prominent personnel from the communications and entertainment industries. The Council of Religious Leaders is composed of the heads of member units and reflects the diversity of support that TRIMM receives. Financial support comes from denominations, local churches, ecumenical councils, individuals, foundations, corporations and others who wish to strengthen the public witness of the churches in the New York broadcast market area.
