Organization & Objectives
of the Queens Federation of Churches

The Queens Federation of Churches is an ecumenical fellowship of cooperating Christian churches. Its purpose is stated in its Constitution.

Article I: Organization. The Queens Federation of Churches, a religious corporation organized under the laws of the State of New York, is a federation of Christian congregations working together to create fellowship, to pool knowledge and resources with which to promote the responsible missionary, educational, and other tasks to which each communion is committed, and to seek to interpret the will of God in Jesus Christ for our times.

Article II: Objectives. It shall be the purpose of the Federation:

1. To manifest the common Spirit and purpose of the ecumenical Church in carrying out its mission in the Borough of Queens and in the world.

2. To enable such cooperative work as may achieve more effectively the objectives of the total Christian witness.

3. To encourage fellowship and mutual counsel that will deepen the spiritual life and further the religious activities of the several congregations.

4. To study religious needs of the Borough of Queens and devise plans to meet those needs.

5. To maintain fellowship with other ecumenical bodies in the metropolitan area, the state, and the world.
